Valdespino Inocente Fino Sherry
Considering the finished wine is ten years old, it is bursting with freshness and flavour. The Fino Inocente is from palomino grapes on Valdespino’s vineyard, Marcharnudo Alto.
- Straw yellow in colour
- Savoury aromas of bread dough, almonds, olives and dried apples dominate on the nose
- Bone dry and bracingly refreshing on the palate
- Saline minerality and a long and complex finish
- Suitable for vegans & vegetarians
- Chill before serving
One of the key features of Valdespino Inocente fino sherry is its versatility. Enjoy as an aperitif, or as an accompaniment to a meal. It is a particularly good match for seafood dishes, such as grilled shrimp, oysters, or mussels. The wine's crisp and refreshing flavour complements the natural flavours of seafood. Great with tapas, especially Iberian cured hams, green olives – or a real treat with a shellfish bisque.
Valdespino is a family bodega in Jerez, and has a wealth of history. Alfonso Valdespino was one of 24 knights who fought for the city of Jerez in 1264 and was given the land in the Jerez region.
Today Valdespino belongs to the Estevez family, with 750 hectares of vineyards. Their Pago Macharnudo vineyard provides the palomino grapes for their single vineyard wines, which includes this fino 'Inocente'.
Valdespino is one of the few bodegas currently producing these exquisite single vineyard sherries.
