1. Age Varification
1.1 We will not sell or deliver alcohol to anyone who is, or appears to be, under the age of 18. By placing an order you confirm that you are at least 18 years old and we reserve the right not to deliver if we are unsure of this. Cotswold Port Co. reserves the right not to accept any order.
1.2 In registering your details with us to order, a date of birth shall be requested. This is to prevent the sale of alcoholic goods to children. Your details shall be checked and verified to ensure your eligibility for the sale. The information used will shall not be used for anything other than to verify ID. This verification is requested by the local authority in order for us to operate.
1.2 Cotswold Port Co. operates a Challenge 25 policy. Our couriers shall require proof of age prior to alcoholic goods being handed over. If you or the person receiving your delivery are lucky enough to appear to be under 25, you will need to produce valid ID to accept your order or it will be withheld and a refund issued. The only acceptable proof of identity shall be a photographic driver’s licence, a passport or an Identity Card containing the PASS Hologram.
2.1 We accept Debit Card and Credit Card transactions. The Cards we accept are Mastercard / Visa / Visa Delta / Visa Electron / Solo / Switch / Maestro / American Express. The goods will not be delivered until the customer’s funds that have been paid to Cotswold Port Co. have cleared in full. We also accept Paypal payments. We do ask that all orders are placed through the site to ensure that cards are subject to full security checks offering our consumers and us peace of mind. See 7. Credit Card Security below.
2.2 Please be aware when refunds are issued, it may take several days to reappear in your account. This is completely out of our hands.
3. The Order Process
3.1 We reserve the right to cancel an order up to the point of delivery and we are under no obligation to give a reason.
3.2 The processing of a payment and acknowledgement of an order does not constitute a legally binding contract and if we are unable to fulfil an order we will offer you alternative options or a full refund as appropriate. We are not obliged to compensate you in any way for being unable to fulfil your order.
3.3 By completing and submitting an order form (during the 'checkout process') you are making an offer to purchase goods which, if accepted by us, will result in a binding contract. Neither submitting the electronic “Place Order” form or completing the checkout process constitutes our acceptance of your order. The order is deemed as accepted and the contract entered into at the point the goods are delivered and signed for.
3.4 Once you have placed your order, confirmation will be sent to you via e-mail, complete with your Transaction and Order Reference Numbers.
3.5 If you wish to Cancel your order, you entitled to do so at any time after the order has been placed and within 14 working days of receiving your goods. The cancellation period ends on the expiry of the period of 14 working days beginning with the day after the day on which you received the goods. Delivery and collection charges are not refundable and will be deducted from the balance to be returned which we will notify you of on receipt of your return request. 4. Pricing and Descriptions of Goods
4.1 Cotswold Port Co. cannot be held responsible for pricing or description errors due to software mal-function, or human error. Unfortunately mistakes and technical errors do occur from time to time.
4.2 While we make every effort to ensure that prices on our website are correct, occasionally, errors do occur. If an error becomes apparent after you have placed your order, we will either contact you and offer to complete the order at the correct price or cancel your order. We are not obliged to fulfil your order at the incorrect price. We reserve the right to alter the prices stated on this website at any time.
4.3 All goods are offered subject to availability. We cannot guarantee the availability of specific vintages and alternative vintages may be sent out as a replacement without notice. We will always try to ensure that wines are of the vintages quoted on our list, however if one vintage becomes exhausted, the next available vintage will replace it.
4.4 All products are offered subject to availability. Unfortunately some products do go out of stock between placing an order and it being prepared for delivery. In the event that a product is unavailable, we shall contact you to arrange replacement of the same value at no extra cost, or make alternative arrangements that are acceptable to you, or issue a full refund as appropriate. All details will be confirmed before dispatching the goods. Please note, if you have not provided us with the correct telephone or email details, it may take us longer to contact you or not be able to contact you at all. Please check the details of your order carefully.
4.5 Photographs of bottles and labels are for illustrative purposes only. Packaging changes occur frequently and photographs are not always updated.
4.6 Please check your order confirmation and notify us immediately of any discrepancies in the order or customer details.
5.1 Delivery Cost. Goods will be delivered to most UK addresses within 48 hours subject to stock availability and is priced at £6.95 per order/consignment (whether it is one bottle or a few cases). Orders for Northern Ireland, the Scilly Isles, Channel Islands, Isle of Man, Isle of Wight, Scottish Highlands and Islands and some other remote areas can take longer to deliver and unfortunately are not covered by this cost - please call and we'll get you the lowest price quote for shipping we can.
5.2 International Service. We regret we cannot currently deliver internationally. We can deliver to selected countries in mainland Europe and the Republic of Ireland but cannot fulfil orders through the website for outside of the UK and Channel Islands. If you require a delivery to the Republic of Ireland or to Mainland Europe, please contact us directly for a quote.
5.3 Large Volume orders. Some very high volume orders may be better delivered on a Pallet and in some cases will be delivered direct from our suppliers. If you are requiring a large quantity of one of our products, or several cases of products please call us for a bespoke quotation and scheduled delivery date.
5.4 The delivery process. We operate on a signature basis to ensure goods are received safely and securely. Goods may only be signed for by persons over the age of 18. Our couriers may ask for ID if you appear to be under 18 and may refuse to deliver if suitable ID cannot be provided.
You can choose to have your order delivered to an address other than your billing address, such as your place of work or to a friend or relative. Simply add an alternative shipping address when placing your order. We are sorry but at present we do not have the facility on the website to offer shipping to multiple addresses. Should you require this service, please contact us for a bespoke quote for the extra carriage and we will be happy to arrange this for you.
Delivery Partners. We use APC as our main courier, who are trusted and well established Nationwide. They operate an extremely well managed and reliable service, in which they pride themselves on their customer service. They operate using local permanent staff rather than agency drivers and take a personal approach to their deliveries.

Please remember, Couriers are the link between you and us and we do not own that link, nor can we directly control what happens within it. In the vast majority of cases our customers have no issues with deliveries but in a very small percentage of cases, problems do arise. We will do our very best to address those problems for you where we can and we regularly review the service we are getting from our trusted partners and follow up issues where appropriate.
5.5 Problems with delivery. If the courier is unable to deliver, the driver will leave a card and attempt re-delivery the next working day. If the couriers cannot deliver on their first attempt, they will re-attempt delivery the next working day at no extra cost. If they are still unable to deliver, they will leave a card with contact details to arrange a re-delivery at an appropriate time or you may specify instructions where to leave the goods, such as with a neighbour or in a safe place.
Amendments to the delivery address cannot be made without the permission of the consignor. Amendments that are made to the delivery address that mean a change of delivery depot will incur a charge and is dependent on the area.
IMPORTANT: If a request is made for a parcel to be left unattended we cannot be held responsible if it goes missing after the courier has delivered it. We are under no obligation to compensate for goods missing if a request to leave unsigned has been made.
If the couriers are unable to deliver after several attempts and have not had any instruction from the customer (the purchaser of the goods), the item will be returned to us at the expense of the purchaser of the goods and subject to either:
1) A re-delivery cost (the return cost plus a new delivery charge)
2) Cancellation of the order and the return cost deducted from any refund made to you.
At peak seasonal times it could be several days before we are made aware of this and you risk the gift being circulated in a system of thousands of parcels before we are able to get it back!
We will do our utmost to adhere to our despatch and delivery deadlines. Should any problems occur on the delivery process - i.e. traffic or weather issues - and the delivery not be completed the next working day, Cotswold Port Co. cannot be held responsible. We will try and inform you if we are made aware of any issues with your delivery, but at peak times small issues can take much longer to resolve. We implore you not to leave a special gift order or Wine for an important occasion to the last minute as we want to make sure the ordering and delivery process is stress free and to give us time to resolve any issues where we can.
5.6 Delivery of gifts direct to recipient. If you are sending a gift through Cotswold Port Co. directly as a gift, please provide as much detail for delivery as possible and please ensure the recipient will be able to receive the gift delivery.
5.7 Breakages or Damage. We take special care to ensure your goods are packed safely and securely, using approved packaging but occasionally and unfortunately, some breakages or damage can occur.
Any damage to the order that has occurred during transit must be reported to Cotswold Port Co. as soon as possible on receipt of the goods. If there is visible damage on delivery, this must be reported to the courier.
All goods must be examined and we must be notified of any breakages immediately and within two days of delivery at the latest. We may ask you to send us photos of the damage before further action is taken.
5.8 Collections are not possible
6. Credit Card Security:
6.1 All credit card transactions processed from this site use 128-bit encryption to create a safe and secure shopping experience for you. Once you reach the order process, you will notice a padlock appear at the bottom of your browser window. Also, the address at the top will change to begin with https://www instead of http://www. Both are signs you are entering a secure site.
6.2 We take card fraud extremely seriously and use checking procedures that may be more stringent than other sites. As such, if we believe there is a small possibility of a transaction being fraudulent, we do reserve the right to make extra checks as we feel necessary which may delay your order or we may withhold an order entirely in which case a full refund will be issued back to the method of payment used and goods will not be sent out. We apologise for any inconvenience or offence this may cause, but as a small independent business selling high value goods, we do reserve the right to not only protect our own property but potentially that of others by ensuring potentially fraudulent transactions are not processed.
We will collect only the basic personal details required to process your order. We will not release your name, address, email address or any other information about our customers to any outside party. We will not trade, resell, sell or redistribute information that you provide to us to any other companies, organisations or individuals. We may send you promotional emails about our products and services on occasion, you may unsubscribe from this at any time.
8. Returns Policy & Guarantee:
At Cotswold Port Co. we guarantee your satisfaction with our products. However, in accordance with the UK Online and Distance Selling Requirements, you are entitled to cancel your order at any time within 14 working days of receiving your goods. The cancellation period ends on the expiry of the period of 14 working days beginning with the day after the day on which you received the goods.
If you wish to cancel an order under these terms, first contact us and we will arrange a collection.
Please return your product unopened in its original state and securely packaged within 14 days of receiving your parcel and a full refund will be issued minus the delivery and collection costs. Shipping and handling charges are NOT refundable unless the goods delivered were incorrect, damaged or faulty. (This does not affect your statutory rights in the event of faulty goods).

If you wish to return items for any other reasons, these cases can be reviewed on an individual basis, so please email or call to discuss. If you have a bulk order for an event and wish to return unused stock we reserve the right to charge a 20% restocking fee.
Please note - if you choose to send an item yourself and not via our courier collection service we recommend using appropriate services to cover the value of your product in case of any damage incurred during the returns process.
Unwanted items that arrive back to us damaged that have not been transported using our approved courier collection or drop off service will not be refunded.
9. Claims & Queries:
All goods must be examined and we must be notified of any breakages immediately and within two days of delivery at the latest. Please contact us straight away if you have any problems or enquiries. Should you have a query regarding your order, please phone or email us.
Any complaints in respect of quality or service will be dealt with as soon as possible. In the event of complaint please e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org giving as much detail as you can. Please note we are husband and wife team and emails may not always be responded to straight away. Please bear with us and we will do our best to help.
11. Unlawful or Prohibited Use:
11.1 You shall not use this site for any purpose that is unlawful or by any means prohibited under these terms and conditions. You shall not use this site in any manner which may harm Cotswold Port Co. or any other parties or adversely affect the site functionally or its use by others.
11.2 You shall not attempt or obtain from or through this site any information that is not already and intentionally made available from or through it.
11.3 As stated above, we will not sell or deliver alcohol to anyone who is, or appears to be, under the age of 18. By placing an order you confirm that you are at least 18 years old and we reserve the right not to deliver if we are unsure of this.

13.1 All the information on this site is intended for guidance only. The website is regularly updated; however products and prices are subject to change without prior notice.
13.2 We reserve the right to adjust prices, offers, goods and specifications of goods at our discretion at any time.

14. Statutory Rights
These terms and conditions do not affect your statutory rights as a consumer.
15. Title to Goods
Property and title in the goods shall remain with The Cotswold Port Co Ltd and shall not pass to the customer until such time as the customer has made payment in full of all sums due.
