Pellegrino Marsala Uncle Joseph Rubino Superiore
Dedicated to the English businessman Joseph who in 1819 joined Uncle Benjamin in Sicily to produce marsala wine and distribute it around the world thanks to their impressive fleet of sailing ships.
One of the only marsala producers to make a premium ‘Rubino’ or ‘red’ style of marsala.
- Colour is deep ruby red
- Aroma is extremely fruity, with notes of black cherries, pomegranates and plums
- The palate is sweet, with evident hints of red berries, cherries, Marasca cherries and pomegranates
A traditional pairing with Pellegrino Marsala Uncle Joseph Rubino Superiore is dark chocolate with at least 70% cocoa. Great with a slice of grilled black bread from Castelvetrano, fresh tuma cheese and mulberry jam. Serve at 12°-14° C.
Made using Sicily’s indigenous Nero d’Avola grape. Fortified with 5 year old oak aged brandy and aged for 24 months in Allier oak cask.
