Blandy's Sercial 10 Year Old Madeira (Dry)

A large proportion of the sercial grapes harvesting takes place in the upper slopes of the South of the Island. The cooler microclimate ensures these wines have very brisk acidity.

The wine ferments for 5 days before fortification resulting in a drier style. The blend then ages using the canteiro process for an average of 10 years.

  • Pale, bright topaz colour with a golden tinge
  • Fresh with dry fruit, wood and citrus flavours
  • Fresh and nutty long lasting finish

Blandy's sercial 10 year old madeira is a refine wine and does not require decanting. It is excellent as an aperitif, but is also exceedingly good with starters, fish dishes and Indian cuisine.

It was bottled ready to drink and will keep for several months after opening.

The Blandy family is unique in being the only family of all the original founders of the madeira wine trade to still own and manage their own original wine company. Throughout its long history on the island, the family has played a leading role in the development of Madeira wine.

Members of the family continues to live on Madeira, maintaining a tradition that goes back to 1811: 2 centuries of fine wine production.
