Blood Red Port Sangria
A Halloween twist on the classic sangria, this cocktail combines the richness of port with fresh fruit and a hint of spice.
Ingredients:
- 1 bottle of ruby port
- 1 cup brandy
- 1/4 cup orange liqueur
- 1/4 cup honey or simple syrup
- 1 orange, sliced
- 1 lemon, sliced
- 1 apple, cored and sliced
- 1 cup pomegranate seeds
- 1-2 cups soda water or ginger ale (to taste)
- Ice
Instructions:
- In a large pitcher, combine the port, brandy, orange liqueur, and honey or simple syrup
- Add the sliced fruit and pomegranate seeds
- Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours
- Just before serving, top with soda water or ginger ale and stir gently
- Serve over ice in spooky glasses or goblets
