Blood Red Port Sangria

A Halloween twist on the classic sangria, this cocktail combines the richness of port with fresh fruit and a hint of spice.

Ingredients:

  • 1 bottle of ruby port
  • 1 cup brandy
  • 1/4 cup orange liqueur
  • 1/4 cup honey or simple syrup
  • 1 orange, sliced
  • 1 lemon, sliced
  • 1 apple, cored and sliced
  • 1 cup pomegranate seeds
  • 1-2 cups soda water or ginger ale (to taste)
  • Ice

Instructions:

  1. In a large pitcher, combine the port, brandy, orange liqueur, and honey or simple syrup
  2. Add the sliced fruit and pomegranate seeds
  3. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours
  4. Just before serving, top with soda water or ginger ale and stir gently
  5. Serve over ice in spooky glasses or goblets
