Product Information

Late Bottled Vintage, as the name suggests, is bottled later, remaining in wood between four and six years. During this relatively long period of wood ageing, an LBV matures and settles down - it is ready to drink when bottled, does not need to be decanted and can be served by the glass for several weeks after the cork is drawn.

LBV was developed as a high quality but more affordable and immediately drinkable alternative to Vintage port to be enjoyed by the glass on everyday occasions. It was originally created in 1970 by Taylor’s current Chairman, Alistair Robertson.

Tasting Notes

Black morello cherry on the nose, great vibrancy and wonderful freshness of fruit. On the palate, cassis, plums and blackberry combine harmoniously with the well-integrated and tightly knit tannins. Long elegant finish.

Taylors LBV Port

How to Serve

"The perfect match to moments of relaxation and indulgence anytime of day" This Port makes an excellent match for a goats cheese such as a fresh Valençay or a Sainte-Maure. As the thick crumbly texture of the chèvre dissolves in contact with the wine, the ripe and opulent fruitiness of the LBV merges with the rich tangy flavours of the cheese in sublime synergy.

Accolades

“I announced the arrival of this wine in Weekend earlier in the year and I can’t wait to see the other Port houses try to topple it from its throne. I’m so impressed with the purity of flavour and majesty on display in this inky, brooding monster” Matthew Jukes, Daily Mail, 2016
